When I see an Atlas pilot say "I have tons of LRMs" and mean it...I die a little inside, cause I know Jesus and Santa Claus both just had to kill puppy.

LRM Atlas can work, but it is far from the best mech for the job. My second AS7-S(L) is rigged with LRM10 and 3xLRM5, but backed up by 2xMPL, 2xML, and AC20. When I see people that go LRM Atlas with multiple big launchers it does make me want to ask people why they thought it was a good idea.

Mind you, some people can't afford multiple mechs, and just try to mix up play on the few chassis they do have. While I understand this, if you are going to go for a role the mech fails to be good at, at least try to optimize within those boundaries, y'know?

I don't usually pilot an Atlas, but when I do, I spam LRMs on it. With XL. Muahahahaha! :D

...

Mental note: If I see a purple reward Atlas, go for the legs, they're made of peanut brittle.

One rack of LRM20 is not bad. I have it on my K.

I like to have a thing which fires on range. Or a LRM/SRM combo. Which is not bad either.

But i had one D-DC x3 LRM10. I like, (its my joke build)but i found it a waste of a Atlas while other mechs can do a better job at it.

but should always be replaced with an aLRM15, instead. Save 2 tons, some heat, reload time and do just as much useful damage, if not more. LRM20 is just a waste.

100 tons of LRM boat is a waste no matter which way you want to try to slice it. It hurts your team by keeping all that armor tonnage in the rear of the group, and is the utmost display of either A: inexperience, B: bad decision making or C: both.

Nothing wrong with LRM's on an Atlas, I actually find it to be very valuable to carry some when I run mine.

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...c8c74d2f6861a01

I've been running this build for a while, and it works pretty well, its hilarious when people try to rush me thinking "oh there is another ****** LRM boat I can stomp" then they get an AC-20 and some WUB in the face.

Thing is, no matter what map it drops on, I've got tools for just about any engagement.

When I can't see the enemy directly, I can support teamates with some brief LRM spam and enough of it to matter, on top of having a pretty powerful setup for brawling when I can sucker the enemy in.

A few LRM's on an Atlas, nothing wrong with it, you can't always brawl with it, so dedicated brawl builds are limited and not as valuable IMO.

Now the guys that run full LRM builds, and maybe MPL only with no real brawl ability.. those guys are just annoying.. sorry, when push comes to shove in a brawl you're useless, and that 12 tons of LRM ammo a complete waste.

If you're going to carry LRM's, carry a build that can fight back on its own when the brawl comes to you.

Yeah... No.

Fire support is normally behind the front line and this universe has plenty of Assault Missile boats.

I have an Atlas 7D(F) and Atlas 7S(L) and they would be pretty similar when i would use SRM on both.
In the end i made the 7D a ALRM15 Mech and the 7S a SRM4 Mech bcs the many Missiles Hardpoints on the 7S would make Artemis take to much weight and the 7D would already have Artemis anyway for its ASRM6.

As the 7D has 1x10 and 1x5 LRM tubes i get a 15 - 10 - 5 LRM chainfire from the 2x ALRM15 Launchers without the need to set my LRM to chainfire.

I tested it and it works well.

Now one is a LRM-Atlas (also with Gauss+ERLL) and the other one is a SRM-Atlas (also also with Gauss+ERLL) and i have 2 Mechs that play different.

IMO I'd rather it have two LRM10's and pulse lasers.

well, if you are gonna sit in the back lobbing, a CPLT would work just as well, while freeing up an Assault Slot to actually assault.

Don't mind mixed builds and an Atlas with LRMs, but it's a poor choice for a "lrmboat".
Personal knock on your build though would simply be 14tons of missile weapons with bare minimum ammo requirement.

terrible weapon synergy. and LRM10s shoudl only be run by mechs with heavy quirks for them. They are not as efficient as 20s, but I'd take a single lrm15 with artemis over 2 lrm10.
